2026-10-06 — Project-concept drafts for formal review
Prepared six new draft project concepts from revision-addressed public
sources: nixpush, nixremote, nixscroll, nixsh, nixshare, and nixvps. Each
draft records its exact source revision and declares only what that tree
contains; tutorial interfaces were evaluated against the real modules with
synthetic values, and no deployment or runtime result is claimed.
Rebound the pre-existing nixram concept to its current public revision and
corrected its origin to the canonical public source. Body content is otherwise
preserved.
Added the shared workload-substrate and storage boundary table to the cnix
system page, with each row pinned to the exact public revision it was read
from. Named projects without a cnix concept remain undocumented beyond that
ownership delimitation.
All drafts carry status: draft; showcase publish flags are set true for the
seven reviewed host concepts as the release candidate’s exact launch set. This
candidate awaits formal source promotion and independent artifact review; no
deployment has occurred.
2026-08-12 — End-to-end preview release
Defined the editorial register as architecture memo, restrained product brief,
and FOSS README; local rewrites remain subordinate to claim review and a
strong final editor.
Distinguished public source promotion from website deployment: internal
candidates require review before their first push because later deletion does
not remove Git history.
Added a hash-bound, structured adversarial privacy review to the release path.
Enabled fail-closed static publication through npm run deploy.
Marked the initial site as a working preview while project ingestion remains
incomplete.
Defined separate nix*.corbet.ch marketing showcases as generated outputs of
the same reviewed project concepts that produce cnix technical references.
Extended the adversarial reviewer’s explicit public allowlist only to the
project-showcase hostname pattern and its documented product relationship.
Classified nixea adjacency and the public repository’s own release mechanics
as intentional public product behaviour; removed an unsupported private work
perspective name.
2026-08-12
Initialization: Defined cnix as the public knowledge and publication
product for the Corbet Nix suite.
Architecture: Separated the public corpus from the private operational
overlay and made tutorials synthetic public concepts.
Safety: Established an allowlisted projection and fail-closed guardian as
prerequisites for rendering and publication.
Interoperability: Declared Open Knowledge Format 0.2 and LLM Wiki
conventions as compatibility targets.
